Wedge

Wedge is a Rescue Bot who appeared in Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy.

He happens to be a big fan of Bumblebee. With his new Mul-T-Cog,Wedge is able to transform into a new car mode,courtesy of Bumblebee. He's best friends with Wes,a human. Even though he started as a rival to Hotshot,the two became close friends. His mentor is Bumblebee. Hoist constructed new tools for everyone, including power drivers for Wedge. The first test didn't go well, but Wedge and the others enlisted Boulder to give Hoist some encouragement and help perfect the tools. Though Wedge was given an auger by the Sparksayer, he agreed to swap it for Hot Shot's combicannon, only for the pair to discover that the tools would only activate for their original users. Wedge took part on a mission to help a Titan known as Cidatel Secondus after sending a distress signal. It turns out Cidatel was lonely all along. When Wedge was having trouble with his new vehicle mode,Hotshot was assigned by Bumblebee to be his speed coach.

Wedge was created as a Decepticon as stated in More Then Meets The Eye, but Optimus prime found him,and believed that he had so much potential as an Autobot. His kindness is what inspired Wedge to become an autobot.

Appearance

Overview

Wedge is a Construction Bot of orange body, white arms and legs, and bluish silver accents, with small yellow and black details, the upper half of his face is a light orange while the lower half is white. His helm resembles a construction helmet with two metal exhaust pipes at the sides; he has a bulky and square shaped torso with a windshield and side windows; A lift cylinder goes across all the way from his shoulder to the back of his hands; His feet look similar to tilts as they're hollow (this because once he transforms they turn into his bucket) they have a hazard/construction tape style stripes on the tip of them.

Toy	Toy's Modifications
Wedge Skid Loader	The only noticeable change is that a silver back bumper shows up as his shoulders in robot mode.
Wedge Skid Loader II	Miscellaneous changes on his legs and arms, but nothing more.
Wedge Cement Truck	There are some noticeable changes to the windshield and arms.
Wedge Bulldozer	There are now larger exhaust pipes behind his arms, his windshield is changed and some pipes frame it, his arms are now bulldozer blades with construction tape designs on them, his legs are now tracks.

Trivia

• Rescue Bots Academy Wedge is heavily based on his 2001 Robots in Disguise counterpart.
• He's into Cube, thanks to Hotshot, whom he once won a Cube game against.
• He frequently exhibits Acrophobia, or a intense fear of heights, in the show.
• He has a very good hand at crafts, as shown in his DIY Bumblebee Halloween costume and his model of the academy.
• Hotshot and Wedge are Implied love interests
• It is implied that he experiences stage fright and does not feel comfortable in crowds.
• Initially, he found math and science boring, often preferring the action and hands-on learning, but after a short mission with Bumblebee and Perceptor, he finds it useful and enjoyable.
• Could be defined as the muscle of the team, since he is shown to have great strength, often more than the rest of his team.
• According to Chris Doc Wyatt on Twitter, Wedge and the rest of the recruits were born after the war.
• According to Pete Slattery on Twitter, if the recruits were to have an official age order, he would write Wedge as the oldest.
